Acland St Upgrade - Doom or Boom
The Acland Street upgade has created division and debate from several different groups. Council offices are reviewing all feedback and will prepare a consultation summary report due to be released prior to the next council meeting. With the final decision looming, Mynewsroom investigated the issues.
Port Phillip Mussel Festival a Success
Collaboration with the Victorian Government and the Mussel Industry has produced excellent results after previous years of poor production. The South Melbourne Market took advantage of the improved production with the Port Phillip Mussel Festival achieving a good result.
Decision on Acland St Upgrade
The Port Phillip Mayor spoke to Mynewsroom in response to some of the issues with the Acland St Upgrade. There still seems to be confusion with the Traders, PTV and Yarra Tram over the alternative site for the terminus even though it seems the Mayor’s position is clear. However some residents and Traders are still looking at other options.
The Orangutan Challenge
The Trans Boneo Challenge was officially launched by Zoe Foster Blake at the Melbourne’s Botanical Gardens. The Challenge is about saving the endangered Orangutan from the destruction of the forests in Borneo. Lara Shannon went along to the launch.
